Trip Reports
Hedo
2: January 24th-31st
GREAT TIME AS ALWAYS!
This was our first trip to Hedo 2 - we had been to Hedo 3 twice in 2002.
We've been to Jamaica around 12 times between the two of us and were
married there at another resort in Negril in 2000.
Hedo 2 was a blast. We were there in January which is traditionally known
as "Lifestyles" month. There are "lifestylers" there at all times of the
year, but this month is suppose to be a bit "wilder".
First, don't worry...if you are NOT swingers, just say no. No one will try
to force you to do anything you don't want to and most swingers are just
as happy making your acquaintance no matter what sort of lifestyle you
lead. Not everyone who goes to Hedo is a swinger or has even been to a
nudist resort before. EVERYONE is welcome there.
As for atmosphere, we felt that Hedo 2 was not much different from Hedo 3
based on our experience. We've heard stories about both places and have
concluded it just depends on the crowd when you are there and a great deal
depends on YOU. It's what you make of it! During Lifestyles month, they
are more lax about leaving the nude beach and not covering up. There is a
lot of overflow of nude on the prude side at this time, but after this
month, they are strict again...you must be covered, even if it's sheer,
when you leave the nude side.
As for the resort itself, Hedo 2 has a larger nude beach - however the
resort is laid out so that there is more walking from one end to the
other. Ladies may leave their bottoms on while on the nude side here,
while at Hedo 3, you must be completely nude at their beach.
The beach at Hedo 2 is a public beach, so people can "walk through" from
other resorts along the Negril beaches. Don't worry...if they want to
stare, let them. After a couple of hours (or even minutes) you will feel
comfortable on the nude side.
The rooms are a bit smaller than Hedo 2, but who cares! We weren't there
to stay in our rooms! To us it didn't matter if we were on the nude or
prude side as we enjoyed the dining area (which is on the prude end) for
breakfast and lunch and wound up walking back and forth all day from the
prude to the nude side anyway.
The weather was fantastic all week. Not a drop of rain and mostly clear to
partly cloudy but always sunny skies. The temp ranged from upper 70s at
night to lower 80s during the day.
Food was good. We didn't feel it was outstanding, but it was certainly
worth our while and we weren't there for gourmet dining either. The bars
serve top shelf liquor, but don't look for the newer specialty drinks as
they may not have all the mixers you are looking for. There are plenty of
specialty island drinks with fruit, coconut, etc. Even champagne is
available at the main and piano bars.
The crowd was all age ranges, but mostly 30-50-ish. However, age doesn't
matter for the most part - everyone is friendly. If you are willing to
meet people, you will have fun and it doesn't matter to most if you are
older or younger than they are.
Some are "Barbie and Ken" types...others are not. We saw people in
wheelchairs and braces, people with scars, women with mastectomies. NO ONE
was out of place! The thing to remember is EVERYONE is beautiful!
